Running on the road or the pavement?
When we are out running, we notice some runners running on the road and some on the pavement. But which is right?
We have always said to newcomers and beginner runners (and more recently our children) that it doesn’t matter if you run on the road or the pavement – Just don’t run on both…
If there is a pavement, run on it facing the traffic. If there is no pavement, run on the “wrong” side of the road.
Constantly switching from one to the other or worse, running “half and half” risks twisting ankles or knees, slipping or other injuries.
