Quickfire training session for the rain

February 22nd, 2008

Here a quick session when it is raining or damp outside.

(warm up indoors)

Pick a landmark or point that will take you about 15 minutes to run to.

Run not quite as hard as you can to it. When 15 minutes has elapsed or your have reached the point – turn around and come back the same way.

But this time run as hard as you can. If you have judged this right, you will get past your house (because you have run faster).

At the end of the second 15 minutes – turn around and cool down back to your house.

You will feel quite pumped..

How does this help us ?

Firstly, It helps develop the skill of running faster in the second half than the first – like you (hopefully) do in a race.

And secondly, it gets you out when you otherwise would have stayed and laid on the couch watching TV.
